Dancing in the Meadow with Refugee Resource

We were delighted to welcome a group of enthusiastic women from Oxford Charity Refugee Resource on Wednesday 13th May.

Refugee Resource work with refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable migrants, providing advice, mentoring, counselling and social inclusion activities to help them to build meaningful lives as part of the wider community.

NRN's Kate Pritchard led a guided walk over the community land that we are all painstakingly restoring to floodplain wildflower meadow and explained the process and impact we are having. We all exchanged our experiences of nature and the outdoors, many of the group are budding hikers and NRN members recommended other walks and sites the group could visit.

We then shared lunch together in the meadow, with some lovely homemade food from around the world and three beautiful cakes from Kevan, accompanied by music and dancing! The positive energy of the group was so inspiring and made an interesting and enriching lunchtime change for our Wednesday Plant Propagation Group members.

It was an enriching day for all and we hope to welcome them back again sometime soon.
