Lesser Celandine, Hanborough Road verge. A favourite of Wordsworth, Lesser Celandine is one of the first wildflowers to bloom in early spring. Gilbert White recorded that the first celandines usually appeared in his Hampshire village of Selborne on the 21st of February, which is now known as "Celandine Day".
